Banking Graduate Programs in Australia: CommBank, ANZ and NAB Compared

Australia’s big banks run some of the most structured and competitive graduate programs in the country. Each offers rotations, development support and a clear route into permanent roles.

Commonwealth Bank
Trainees rotate through areas such as engineering & cybersecurity, data science & analytics, marketing, risk, banking and accounting. The program typically runs 12–18 months and is open to final-year students and those who graduated in the last two years.

ANZ
Streams include ANZ Plus, Retail, Risk, Talent & Culture, Communications and Agribusiness. Eligibility covers Australian/NZ citizens, permanent residents and holders of selected visas (including Subclass 485). Applicants should be in their final year or have graduated within three years.

NAB
NAB emphasises tailored learning, mandatory rotations, enterprise projects, networking events and community impact work. Their next major intake has been referenced for February 2026.

Choosing between them
Consider the culture, preferred business area and geographic flexibility. Banking programs are highly competitive; strong academic results, relevant extracurriculars and polished online-assessment performance matter.
